Tuchel Questions Wembley Fan Atmosphere Despite Dominant Wales Victory.

Thomas Tuchel voiced his sadness that the Three Lions team did not get more encouragement from the home fans during their decisive friendly win against Wales on Thursday evening.

The manager was happy to see his team continue their winning momentum, with strikes from Rogers, Watkins, and Saka inside the initial stages deciding the contest. Yet, he was displeased with the energy at the national stadium.

“We had limited sessions to get ready against a well-trained team and we did very well,” the coach stated. “It could have been 5-0 up at the break. We missed the additional ones. It was quiet. There was no support back from the crowd. Our team gave their all to win.”

“What more can you deliver in 20 minutes? We didn’t let them escape. If you hear just the Welsh supporters for 30 minutes, it’s regrettable because the team earned better encouragement today.”

“I maintain my words. We cannot do more than leading 3-0 in a derby. I hoped for a bit more backing in phases where it becomes tough.”

“After halftime, to get behind us, there was a bit too much support for Wales. It could have helped us to refocus, but it is what it is and so be it.”

Squad Decisions Justified by Display

Apart from potentially starting a dispute among supporters, Tuchel also caused a stir by excluding Bellingham and Foden from his squad. Yet the decision was justified by Morgan Rogers excelling in the No 10 position and netting his maiden goal for his country.

“That’s his style,” the head coach noted. “He operates as an attacking midfielder and he is fighting for his position.”

Wales Manager Hopes for Lessons from Defeat

Craig Bellamy hopes that his team, who face a strong Belgian side in a key qualifying match on next week, learn from their disappointing first-half display.

“That’s the reason I scheduled this match,” Bellamy said. “I need to see where we are. Where do we want to go? What is our identity? This performance gives me inspiration.”

Fitness Worry for Watkins

Ollie Watkins was substituted at half-time after colliding with a post and may miss out when England play Latvia in Riga in a World Cup qualifying match on Tuesday.
