Exploring an Unique Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Turdy Character in a Mission to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is in full swing, and enthusiasts have found a variety of interesting independent titles. Yet, one catches the eye for its unconventional concept. Called Unko Technica, this old-school styled platformer lets you play a character that is literally a piece of poop attempting to make its way to a toilet. In case you're wondering, "Unko" means "poop."

Player controls is easy to grasp: just use a single jump button. Across one hundred fifty stages, encounter boss fights and unlock a store to purchase skins for your fecal avatar.

Execute your actions precisely, since one mistake requires beginning again. Leap on air pockets to hurl the poop to new heights, navigate fragile platforms, and interact with buttons to reveal secret routes. Collect coins to purchase challenging levels as things gets crazy.

In terms of design, the experience features vibrant level designs and an amazing soundtrack. The simple graphics with morphing abstract forms could recall players of beloved games like Earthbound.

Even though tough to recall previous releases where you play as a piece of feces, interactive entertainment have long featured scatological themes. For example, in Death Stranding, players make explosives from protagonist waste. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ feces as soil enrichment. Naturally, fecal references appears extensively in Obsidian's South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.

Putting aside its silly premise, Unko Technica has already received significant recognition, such as taking top honors at a major publisher's GYAAR Studio in 2023. A playable preview is accessible at present on Steam, with the final release scheduled to debut on PC this November.
